it's a dirty dirty world.
We cleaned the gutters tonight. I was actually relieved of the duty once I started flinging the sludge on Eric who was holding the ladder below. I was asked to sweep the driveway instead. As I was sweeping, I tried to figure out how so much dirt really ends up in the gutters. I think it's a little peculiar that there can be enough dirt in the gutters for weeds to grow... um... not that any were growing in.. our.. um. Okay. whatever. I'm all about honesty, people. We had more weeds in our gutter than in our yard. There. I said it and I feel better!

Just a little soap and water and all will be okay...
Eric dyed his hair last night. It has become a rule in our house that we have to sit in the bathtub during the entire process to keep the dye on our heads and off the walls (My hair's long and I flipped it over!) and everything else in the bathroom. He states that they changed the formula and it's not as thick. He actually called the 1-800 number to let them know that he really didn't like the new thin consistancy! Maybe I should add my complaints as well! We were able to get the dye of the tiles and the sink, but the toilet seat did not recover. After a few months of telling everyone who entered our bathroom and looked at the toilet seat cover with brown spots "Don't worry! That's just hair dye!", we replaced it. Since then, I color my hair less often and Erics more careful.
Well. Atleast it's not on the walls or the toilet seat!

He had no idea what he'd done to his forhead so I took a picture so he could see for himself~ and I thought I'd share it with you!

Another healthy, helpful blog entry
I have to admit it; Daylights savings time and I did okay this year. We really did. 2 years ago, I was doing this great thing of waking up early to give myself time to read and journal 3 pages. I was working thru this great book, THE ARTISTS WAY, which is amazing. It's all about breaking free to be the "creative" you were meant to be. I was doing so well, when along came DST, and he screwed it all up. I slept in every morning and I still haven't finished that book! I can't remember the trauma from last year but I'm sure I was ticked off at him then too. But I haven't been fazed by it this year.
So, since I have no complains about DST, I thought I'd make a list of random complaints. Because I think that's healthy.
*there's no helmet law for motorcycle drivers here. It drives me CRAZY to see a person on a bike going fast, zipping thru traffic with no helmet.
*It's also legal to sit in the back of open pick ups. I find it extremely uncomfortable driving with people sitting in the back of the pick up staring directly at me. Do I make eye contact? do I smile? I find I can only look away for a certain amount of time since I have to, you know, pay attention to driving!
*baby/kid things. This is tricky because I love looking at baby and kid things (I found this great outdoor play pirateship for $43,000.00 if anyone's interested! ) It just ticks me off that I can't buy anything yet.
*the wait for our adoption~ just know when I say 2 years, it's because I'm trying to make that reality! The real reality won't make it on my blog anytime soon because I find it better to pretend than to face reality of the long wait.
*Trax. I love this dog but he is quirky. Before we put his leash on him or before I give him his daily pill (for hyper activity) he has to run around the dining room table 1 or 2 times. We don't chases him. This is his own OCD issue.
I have to get ready for work now so the list must end. So, has anything go on your nerves this week? SHARE! I want to know what's going on in the lives of my 2 friends who actually take time out of their lives to read this! :)

To see or not to see, that is the question
Early this morning, Eric and I were awakened by a strange noice on our screened in porch. I jumped out of bed and looked out the window. I saw Missy, the neighbor cat, climbing onto the porch from the special "cat door" that Jazz made in our screen a while back. I then saw Jazz cat watching her carefully. Missy and Jazz are arch-enemies most days, although it doesn't keep Missy away from her 2-a-day feedings. ...rabbit trail... sorry. back to the story. and then I saw a THIRD CAT sitting on one of the chairs! I freaked out and told Eric there was A THIRD CAT on the porch! So, I grabbed my glasses and ran to the porch to see the third cat.

I thought the same thing! This IS a strange looking cat. Oh. sorry. I heard you incorrectly. Yes. you're right. IT'S A PLANT. Now, if you read the last sentance before the picture again you will understand. "So, I grabbed my glasses and ran to the porch to see the third cat." I can't see without my glasses but since I've been wearing them for 20 years, I forget that I can't sometimes and my mind has gotten so used to figuring out shapes and shadows that I somehow made that into a third cat. Eric was joking about how blind I am as we were walking Trax tonight. He reached into the mailbox and I think this might be a message from God:

I don't think twice about laser surgery because I heard that your eyes itch like crazy and I don't like to itch. It's horrible. I hate it. But now I can see that it has it's advantages....

Lord, why....
My Bible automatically turns to the book of Job. Those are the most wrinkly pages in it and I'm suspecting that may be caused by tears from this past year. This is such a tough book to read, as I've written before. Tough in the sense of figuring out what Gods all about. Here's a guy who Loves God. And thru the testing and trials of his faith, He did not curse God. The guy was confused though. He believed 100% that God was all powerful. I don't believe he doubted that God could do all things, I think he was just confused as to why these things, the things thought to only happen to bad people or people in sin were happening to him.
The best answer I think is Isaiah 55:8:
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. "
Amen. And that's that. His thoughts are not my thoughts. His ways are not my ways. We have been struggling so much with disappointment with the Lord. For so many things and on so many levels. But this verse shows me that I'm not seeing things as they truly are... that I'm not thinking with the whole picture in mind. I think we all struggle with this. We struggle to understand things. And as I sat down to type this out because I couldn't figure it out in my head, I realized that I need to ask the Lord to forgive me for Judging Him. And to ask Him to give me the big picture. To help me understand what's going on. Instead of crying, Lord "WHYYY???!?!?!?" asking, "Lord, why?"
I'm going to go do that now. You have a great night. And I pray that the Lord will give you answers to your questions too.
