It has come to my attention that people are confused as to how to do the above.

Backwards Weekend Highlights to spice things up
Eric was asked to step in for a drummer on Sunday at another Church in town. As Eric was practicing, a girl who looked my age approached me (we'd been introduced earlier) and said something about me being so young! To this I chuckled, and said I'll be 31 in April... and she gasped~ truly gasped! and stated "I totally thought you were 22 or 23!" * She is 25. I asked her. and then. AND THEN. She said "I hope I look as good as you when I'm old!"** Okay. Time is obviously not as good on my memory as this girl thinks it is on my face ! And now for the downside of looking young:
When I was 24 and working in a coffee shop, I had a 16 year old boy who would come in almost every day I was working and order water. I had to sit him down and share that I actually, truly was, a grown up! Needless to say, his visits came to an end!
*since a few days have passed, I may have added the "totally"
**since a few days have passed, she MAY have really said, "I hope I look as good when I'm your age."
On Saturday we went to our friends birthday party! I had tons of fun because I am a socialite who has been a self-made recluse this past year. Us girls talked and talked. We put our chairs in a circle and just laughed and talked. We also ate greek food. OPA! And we played Pictionary too. WORD TO THE WISE: stick to the words that come with the game and IF someone wants to make up some words to go with a theme of some sort, these should always be looked at by someone else before they make it into the draw-ers hand and then onto the board. It's best for all involved. I am just sayin'.
So that's that! Have a great day~

The frog and the dog
We have a tree frog that thinks our house is it's home. Every time I walk past it, I think about Rhonda who loves frogs. I don't get the fasination, but I support it none the less. For you, my friend!

Here's a picture of Trax that I just think is cute...That's his "monster" at his feet~ his current fav!

It's Okay.
My friend Rhonda recently sent me and Eric a care package with many different things. In it, was a beautiful necklace with a heart of 2 colors and then with a little bitty heart attached (the baby Micah heart!) and many other things to let me know she cares and remembers and also a beautiful scrapbook and letter to show the hope and excitement for our daughter to come! We loved it but I could tell that Rhonda was a little nervous as to how I would take it. And for you that are wondering, It means the world to me that you remember. That you are okay that I'm not really who I was. That a part of my heart is gone. that Micah is a part of our lives. our family. And he will always be. It's okay to ask me questions. It's okay. And if you're uncomfortable for some reason, talk to me so maybe we can work thru it together.
I say all this because I had to get some "assistance" from those that have suffered the loss of a child due to stillbirth because I have recently received a "when will you be over it?"(the frustration of not being able to raise Micah) comment. And I fumbled for words. And I once again thought, well maybe I'm in the wrong. Maybe I shouldn't share. Maybe I need to be stronger so this doesn't bother me. But it still does. I am happy for my friends and family that are having and have healthy children. I am just sad for me and Eric. I celebrate with you but my heart grieves for us. I don't think people get this. I grieve the fact that Micah won't reach the milestones that the kids who would've been his playmates do. I just miss what was hoped for, dreamed about and imagined.

I can't see straight.
Seriously. I can't.
I have pondered the fact that I cannot tell what is a straight line and what is not for many years. After almost every creation I make, I ask Eric "is that straight?" and usually he'll say politely, "not really..."
Exibit A: Here's a picture I painted. I absolutely love it but it's crooked. I do have to say that it's not AS crooked in person as it is here.

Exibit B: another picture that I love and I did much better until I got to the OM...

Now you know one of my struggles in life! And rulers, guides, etc. do not help people like me!

the beauty of a clean house.
So my week?
A little peculiar. One girl at work was fired for her attitude, another quit because she said it was too high stress. So, down to two. Oh well. This is why it's good to be cross trained! On the way home from work on Tuesday, I noticed 2 marked police cars with their lights on pulling into the median. I didn't think much of it since this is a rougher area of town that I drive thru to get to and from work. But then I looked to my right. Every driveway for about 2-3 blocks had a police officer standing outside his car with a shotgun in hand facing some apartment buildings. In case you're wondering, they caught the bad guy. But definately strange. On Thursday, Eric and I went to Tempuras Latin Restaurant which is new in town to celebrate Valentines day. And you know what? I love plantains. I really, truly do. Yesterday I cleaned. Now, we are not spick and span people and my sweet mother in law would want to clean our house on a regular basis if she lived here, but after being sick for 3 weeks, it was a bit of a sty. And the laundry. I wore 2 pairs of pants to work all week and was pulling shirts to wear that I had purposefully put towards the back~ not really, but they weren't my favorites. I washed clothes all day! We smell nice and we aren't wrinkly. And I did a hard core cleaning. It was almost as good as the cleaning I did when we had to take pictures for the adoption agency and for the homestudy with our social worker. (all required things for the adoption process.) See how our house sparkled?!

After we took these pictures in Jan. 2007 we said that we were going to keep it up so that it looked like that all the time. That hasn't happened. But yesterday, I was on a mission. I am hoping that blogging this and posting pictures of a clean house will inspire me.. only time will tell!
Oh~ and I painted a picture with my moms help for above the sofa because the wall looked so plain (don't you agree?). Here it is.

I hope you have a great week~ until next time...
And congratulations to my two sweet Michigan Friends who are both expecting their babies the beginning of September! I'm so excited for both of you... keep me posted and let me know if I was right in my predictions of what you're having!
Love ya! Karin

I got pushed!
I believe that God still talks to us in the ways he did in the Bible. Thru dreams, visions, prophetic word. I know not everyone believes this but because I have experienced it, I believe it to be true! I believe the Bible is the word of God and I try to live by the teachings. But sometimes we get stuck and need a push to get over the hump. Today I got my push. And would you believe it was from 6-11 year olds!?! At my church, they start very early teaching the kids to pray and to listen to the voice of God. One way they help the kids to recognize the voice of God is by bringing in adults and having the kids give prophetic/encouraging words. Well, today I was asked if I would let the kids practice on me and I said yes. The teacher led the kids in prayer and then the kids silently asked the Lord for a word for me. Many of the kids had verses that the Lord put in their heads and others had pictures. Oh, you guys, these kids had me in tears with their accuracy! Basically, God spoke thru these kids to remind me that He is with me, guiding me, helping me, leading me. LOVING ME. I just think it's so cool how God moves and I wanted to share!

I am far from clever today...
I couldn't think of a title today. It's actually much more complex than you would think... atleast for me!
Well, I am almost all better! I just have a bit of a cough and am still tired but I should back to normal soon! (have you missed me?!?)
I have come to terms with our adoption of our sweet China girl taking probably another 2 years to be complete. I am not happy about it but I have come to terms with it. This seems to be what we have had to do with the whole children thing anyways. I am a little emotional this week, kinda sad. But it happens. Everyone has these days no matter where they are in life, right?
In the past 5 months that we have been officially "in Line" for our daughter, I have read of a lot of people switching to different countries to adopt. My future is not clear to me, but what I do feel is that our family won't be complete without her... I keep seeing fuzzy family photos and all that is clear is Me, Eric, and our little girl who looks different from us and is absolutely beautiful. I don't know what the future holds, but I have resolved in my heart to wait for her. Waiting patiently is tough, but I will wait until she's home with us!
We just had a Texa Roadhouse open up down the street. We tried to eat there last night but the line was crazy-long! So we went to Chevys instead. I am not very good with food change. If I think that I'll be eating one thing and am looking forward to it, and then it doesn't work out, I get a little grumpy. My face gets grumpy. But then I try to get over it.... I did pretty well last night but a jump from burgers and steaks to mexican food is a BIG jump! But I sucked it up, ate my Chimichanga and enchilada!
That's really been the excitement for the last week. It's sad really. I realize that my blog gets a bit boring at times, but thanks for sticking it out! Hopefully, it won't be TOO long before I can blog about some kiddos! Until then, I will continue with the animal pictures!
Take Care,
Karin
